An exhibition by one of Serbia’s greatest painters, Milena Pavlović Barili, entitled “The Magical Milena”, organized in cooperation with the Foundation Milena’s Home – the Milena Pavlović Barili Gallery in Požarevac, was presented at the House of Jevrem Grujić.

The exhibition featured over 40 works: Milena’s self-portraits, portraits of her parents and famous people of the time, enigmatic and fantastic compositions and her illustrations for prestigious fashion magazines, as well as a fashion creation by Igor Todorović inspired by Milena, with the idea of presenting as closely as possible the life and work of that delicate young woman – an intriguing painter and poet who marked not only Serbian but world art scene as well.
The exhibited works were borrowed from the Foundation Milena’s Home – the Milena Pavlovic Barili Gallery in Požarevac and the Matica Srpska Gallery in Novi Sad. With the exhibition “Magical Milena”, the House of Jevrem Grujić, Museum of History, Art, Diplomacy and Avant-garde, emphasizes the importance and role of Serbian women artists and the influence they had on the European and world art scene. Also, with this exhibition, the Home of Jevrem Grujić continues the project “Great People of Serbian Painting”, within which exhibitions of Uroš Predić, Petar Lubarda and Paja Jovanović were organized in the past period.
